A new study has come out on oxalates, the tiny molecules that bind themselves to calcium. The study says, more than anything else, oxalates are the root cause of kidney stones.

Dr. Martin is big on transport systems and the trucks on the highways of your blood vessels. He talks specifically about two “transport companies,” HDL cholesterol and vitamin K2, and how they also take oxalates out of your system.

Dr. Martin talks about a huge announcement made by the CDC in the United States. The CDC director admitted that 75% of all the deaths from the virus occurred in people with four comorbidities. Three out of four deaths, the patients had multiple comorbidities!

This announcement is significant, and it goes along with what Dr. Martin has been saying since day one of the virus. We already know that 88% of the population is metabolically unwell – that’s 9 out of every 10 people!

People are on the broad road to disease and this virus has exposed how unhealthy North Americans really are. Remember, disease doesn’t happen overnight!

When doctors check if someone has diabetes, they’re relying on high blood sugar levels to make the diagnosis. Oftentimes, when people have their blood tested, their blood sugar is already back within normal range.

Dr. Martin says a paradigm shift in medicine needs to happen where doctors are looking at insulin resistance instead of blood sugar. When our bodies are constantly secreting insulin to remove sugar from our bloodstream, we become insulin resistant. When this happens, more and more insulin is needed to do the same job.

Dr. Martin looks at two different studies in today’s episode. The first about vitamin D, or VitDerma as Dr. Martin likes to call it, and the second on high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS).

Any study on vitamin D is a good study, and this one is saying how sunlight energizes special cells in your immune system called T-cells. Dr. Martin has spoken previously about these little antenna receptors on your T-cells looking specifically for vitamin D. They energize your cells and help strengthen your immune system.

The second study on fructose consumption, and specifically high-fructose corn syrup, the Frankenstein of sugar, is warning of serious changes to the liver even in the absence of obesity. The study is basically saying you can be skinny and still metabolically unwell, and that’s a dangerous combination.

This recent study was looking at early mortality rates and what people who die young have in common. Some of the things included low cholesterol, high triglycerides, low vitamin D… all things that Dr. Martin has been consistent in reporting.
