A recent article sent to Dr. Martin is saying that insulin resistance is caused by fat. That statement is factually correct, but they’re wrong on the source of the fat. The article is saying that fat comes from the greasy, fatty foods we eat. Dr. Martin disagrees.

Fat doesn’t make you fat. It never did. The fat that causes insulin resistance comes from eating sugars and carbohydrates. If your body doesn’t immediately need that energy, it has to store it somewhere. That excess energy ends up being stored as fat in your liver, and that’s what causes insulin resistance. not the consumption of fat.

Join Dr. Martin as he discusses the article and debunks the erroneous claims. He also teaches about diabetes and explains why you don’t need to fear fat!

There’s a common belief that Alzheimer’s is a disease of age. The older you get, the more likely you are to get the disease. Dr. Martin says this isn’t true, and there’s now proof to back it up.

A study out of Finland has clearly shown how insulin has a much higher statistical value than your age. What that means is that insulin is more likely to cause Alzheimer’s than your age. Dr. Martin says this is earth shattering news!

Join Dr. Martin as he teaches about memory and why Alzheimer’s is about food.

Dr. Martin recently listened to an interview of a consultant to Coca-Cola who became a whistleblower. He brought us into the meetings of the big conglomerate to expose how they manipulate data and how much money goes into lobbying the government.

Coca-Cola does 11 times more research than the National Institute of Health. They pay for research on their products and they're expecting something in return. They will sponsor peer reviewed studies that show how sugar is not near as dangerous as people think.

When the man was asked why he became a whistleblower, his response was that he had children. His children would be consuming 100 times more sugar in their lifetime than a child a hundred years ago.

Dr. Martin says it’s incredible how much power and influence these companies have. Join him in today’s episode as he shares some of the food industry’s dirty secrets.

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) recently conducted a survey that has revealed that most women don't really understand the cause of breast cancer. Women mistakenly think that genetics is the biggest factor in breast cancer.

Dr. Martin has often said that genetics load the gun, but they don't pull the trigger. A family member having cancer doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get cancer as well. You may be more susceptible, but you can override your genetics.

Join Dr. Martin as he shares some recent surprises in breast cancer research in today’s episode.

In this second part of Dr. Martin’s series on the Super Bowl, he looks at offense and how to score points for your overall health.

What can you do offensively that's really gonna help you? Dr. Martin says you need to start with food. There’s nothing that will affect your body more than food. Food is fuel, and when you choose nutrient, protein, or fat dense foods, you’re giving your body the best fuels. Eggs, meat and cheese are the perfect examples!

Join Dr. Martin as he talks about an offensive approach to optimizing your overall health!

Feb 20, 2023

With the Super Bowl on Sunday, Dr. Martin wanted to use the analogy of offense and defense to discuss your health.

When it comes to your immune system it’s mainly on defense. When a bug, virus, or parasite is detected… its job is to stop it from getting through. Just like a team, the immune system is made up of multiple parts including your gut, your T-cells, your brain and your liver.

Join Dr. Martin to learn how the different parts of your immune system work together to protect you from illness.

Feb 17, 2023

Dr. Martin has shared before how getting 20 minutes in the sun is equivalent to getting 10,000 IUs of vitamin D. But some new research on vitamin D is showing that you also get something else. In just 20 minutes of sun, you also benefit from a release of some 200 antimicrobials.

So not only does vitamin D help strengthen your immune system, it’s also providing a natural antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal! This is just another reason why everyone needs vitamin D.

Dr. Martin also shares about a woman who mistakenly took 50,000 IUs daily to combat pancreatic cancer. The woman meant to take 5,000 daily, but after 6 months, most of her cancer had gone away. An amazing story about the power of vitamin D!

Feb 16, 2023

The World Health Organization has recently made a pretty significant statement. They have said that the number one threat to our health is now chronic degenerative conditions which are largely preventable.

Dr. Martin says this truly is a blow your socks off moment! It means for the first time in history, more of us are losing our lives to chronic and largely preventable diseases than to trauma, infectious disease, and even to war. This news ought to be heralded around the world!

When Dr. Martin hears statements like this, it just reinforces the significance of what he’s doing with The Doctor Is In podcast. Join him in today’s podcast to hear more about this significant announcement.

Since 1980 the rates of obesity in North America have quadrupled! What has changed to make these numbers soar? Dr. Martin says it’s because they changed the sugar.

In the 1980s, high fructose corn syrup was approved for use in food. They went from a glucose to a fructose because it crystalizes well, it’s inexpensive, and very addictive. Dr. Martin says the food industry knew exactly what they were doing. They essentially liquified sugar and now it goes directly to your liver. This is bad news!

Dr. Martin also responds to some unanswered questions from the last Q&A session. He answers questions about vitamin D with K2, diabetics with high A1C, varicose veins, coconut milk, apple cider vinegar, and more in today’s episode.

Feb 13, 2023

A recent article is saying that beef consumption is down 40% since 1980. Dr. Martin knew that consumption of meat was down, but didn’t realize it was this much.

The current narrative is that meat is bad for you, that it’ll cause cancer and you should not eat it. Despite consumption being down, why is it that heart disease is up, diabetes is up, cancer is up? None of them are down.

Join Dr. Martin for a history lesson on the decline of beef. He explains why he thinks it’s one of the worst things that has ever happened to our society.

Feb 10, 2023

Dr. Martin looks at some studies with bad news for statin drugs, antidepressants, and omega-6s in today’s episode.

Statin drugs lower LDL cholesterol. They do what they’re meant to do, but a study says you’re also increasing insulin resistance when you take them. Dr. Martin has always said you need cholesterol and this is another reason why you shouldn’t take statin drugs.

Antidepressants have become so prevalent in our society today. A study is saying that long term use of SSRIs have made antibiotic resistance worse. It means when you really need an antibiotic, it may not be as effective. Dr. Martin says this is bad news.

We know that bad oils cause an inflammatory response, and a study is showing how omega-6s can also cause your cells to become lectin resistant. This means you’ll feel hungry all the time, and Dr. Martin says this can contribute directly to diabesity!

Feb 9, 2023

You may remember the breakthrough study Dr. Martin shared a few months ago about how DHA omega-3 was able to shrink tumours. A real life case history has now been published where a man’s cancer was put into remission.

Dr. Martin shares the case history of a man with 4th stage lung cancer who fought his advanced prognosis with high doses of DHA omega-3. The patient was followed closely by his oncologist and with only taking high doses of DHA, the man was able to shrink the tumors and put his cancer into remission.

Join Dr. Martin to learn why DHA omega-3 is so important and what he would do if ever diagnosed with cancer. Don’t miss this very informative episode!

  • Low testosterone in men
  • Healing of epithelial cells
  • Probiotics stopping antibiotics from working
  • Malabsorption of protein
  • Polycythaemia (rubra) vera
  • Loss of smell
  • Anorexia
  • Carrageenan

Feb 7, 2023

You’ve more than likely heard Dr. Martin talk about leaky gut, but you may not have heard of dysbiosis. It’s just another term for leaky gut syndrome, or leaky gut dysbiosis.

The number one cause of leaky gut in our world is antibiotics. They truly are the greatest discovery of the 20th century but they’ve become the curse of the 21st. The use of antibiotics will decimate your microbiome and must be followed up with probiotics. Dr. Martin says that any doctor or pharmacist who doesn’t know this, is committing malpractice.

Join Dr. Martin as he talks about dysbiosis and what leaky gut really is. He uses an illustration of shag carpeting to show how our small intestine works.

Feb 6, 2023

Dr. Martin says it’s amazing what we're learning more and more about cancer. A new study is saying that cancer cells are much different than ordinary cells. Cancer cells have seven times more receptors for insulin than ordinary cells.

So, what does this mean? Our cells, and especially the cells in our muscles and liver, have little receptors that are docking stations for insulin. Whenever we eat, insulin is created, and something must be done with sugar. Insulin goes knocking on the doors of these receptors asking that sugar be stored, as sugar cannot remain in the bloodstream.

With cancer having seven times more receptors for insulin, when eating bread, cereal, pasta, rice, pastries, muffins, bagels, store bought milk, carbs, sugar, etc., you’re essentially feeding cancer. Join Dr. Martin as he unwraps the study and explains the connection between cancer cells and insulin resistance.

Feb 3, 2023

Dr. Martin has mentioned before how health care in North America is a management system that puts little emphasis on prevention. They wait until you’re sick before jumping into action!

To receive an official diagnosis of diabetes, you need your blood glucose to be a certain number. By this time, you’ve been sick for some time. Diabetes is the last thing that happens in your body, not the first.

Join Dr. Martin for an anatomy lesson showing how insulin is connected to every part of our bodies. He discusses prevention and why you need to pay attention to the early warning signs before you have diabetes.

Feb 2, 2023

Dr. Martin gets asked all the time about the connection between salt and high blood pressure. That question bothers him because it was never true! Salt is actually good for you, and it’s really important for your health!

Now the type of salt Dr. Martin is talking about isn’t your typical table salt. That’s sodium chloride and all its minerals have been stripped away. Dr. Martin recommends Himalayan salt or a good sea salt. Both have the minerals your body needs.

Join Dr. Martin as he talks about salt and explains why it doesn’t cause high blood pressure. Study after study has shown that eliminating sodium from your diet does very little to lower your blood pressure.
