In 2021, $4.1 trillion dollars was spent on healthcare in the United States. Despite that, 93% of the population has some form of metabolic syndrome. That number went up 5% since 2016 when it was 88%. We’re spending more money than ever and it’s not producing results.

Dr. Martin says it’s because of the current health philosophy. Medicine is into treating disease and not preventing it. Their modus operandi is viruses, viruses, viruses. The goal is to eliminate viruses entirely instead of equipping people to live with them.

Join Dr. Martin as he discusses the recent Tufts University article, Five Components of Heart and Metabolic Health.

Dec 16, 2022

A study coming out of Japan has found a link between bad food choices and allergies. The university sponsored study had students with allergies clean up their diets by eliminating seed oils, fast foods and soft drinks. They instead consumed meat and fish, eggs and dairy and almost invariably saw their allergies go away.

Dr. Martin says he’s seen the same result with the Reset. People with terrible allergies saw them subside when they changed their diets. They started eating eggs, meat and cheese and eliminated inflammation causing foods.

Join Dr. Martin to look at the connection between bad food and allergies!

Dec 15, 2022

Dr. Martin previously wrote a book on the three kingdoms of food. The first is the animal kingdom, the second is the plant kingdom, and the third is man-made food.

The third kingdom of food is found in the middle aisles of your grocery store. It’s the prepared foods containing crappy carbs and bad oils and includes cereals and 99% of all breads. This kingdom of food isn't really natural at all!

Join Dr. Martin as he looks at the food kingdoms and shares the advantages of eating from the animal kingdom.

Dec 13, 2022

The last two episodes, Dr. Martin has talked about heart disease and how treatment for it has been a colossal failure. Last episode he started talking about the do’s and don’ts for heart health. In today’s episode Dr. Martin shares more don’ts on how to protect your heart.

There’s no surprise that food plays a major role in heart health. What we choose to put in our mouth has a direct correlation on the health of our hearts. In particular, crappy carbohydrates, bad oils, and sugar can be damaging to your heart.

Join Dr. Martin to learn how continuing to eat bad foods is damaging your heart!

Dec 12, 2022

On average, 2,600 people die daily of a heart attack or stroke in the United States. We’re not winning the war on heart disease, and Dr. Martin says the big reason is that we’re looking for love in all the wrong places.

As mentioned in the last episode aspirin and statins haven’t made any dent in the prevention of heart attacks and strokes. If they did, these conditions would now almost be unheard of, but it’s in fact the opposite.

Join Dr. Martin as he shares the do’s and don’ts of heart health in today’s episode!

Dec 9, 2022

You may already know that the number one selling prescription medication of all time in terms of revenue is Lipitor. It’s a cholesterol lowering statin drug. But did you know what the all time highest over-the-counter medication is in terms of numbers? It’s aspirin.

Dr. Martin shares two new studies in today’s episode. These are gold standard review studies. They look at a wide sample of studies and analyze the data of those studies to come to a conclusion.

Join Dr. Martin to learn what the studies have concluded about aspirin and statins.

One of Dr. Martin’s heroes in life was his dad. When he got a diagnosis of diabetes in the late 1960’s, he almost immediately started doing something about it. He started jogging on the spot, and quickly turned that into a good healthy habit of running daily.

Join Dr. Martin in today’s episode where he talks about habits that can change your life. The forming of good healthy habits. Diabetes is more prevalent than ever and most of us are at risk of having it if we don’t develop new habits now.

  • Sunflower lecithin
  • Fixing torn muscles
  • Low thyroid in men
  • Low blood platelets

Dec 5, 2022

A surprising study out of the US is saying that 77% of adult males are obese. The article Dr. Martin read says those men would not qualify for the US Military if they wanted to!

The question we need to ask is why. Why are so many men classified as obese? Dr. Martin says that the food pyramid is upside down. We have enough history to show that we’ve been part of a failed experiment for well over 50 years. The experiment failed and we're sicker and fatter than ever!

Join Dr. Martin as he talks about why obesity has become such a problem in our world.

Dec 2, 2022

Depression and food go together. That’s what a new study linking depression with insulin is saying. When you have insulin resistance, your risk of depression doubles!

Dr. Martin says the link is incredibly significant and another reason why you want to fix insulin resistance. We can’t control everything in our lives, but we can control the types of food we put in our mouths.

Join Dr. Martin in today’s episode as he discusses the study and also answers a couple of questions on B12 that he missed yesterday.

Dec 1, 2022

B12 deficiency is much more prevalent today than it used to be. Back in the 50s and early 60s doctors used to give B12 shots all the time. Today, you almost need to be dead before they give you B12! There is a reason for it, and Dr. Martin calls it the hijacking of labs.

Modern medicine relies on blood tests and established thresholds to determine a course of action. When it comes to B12 their limits are too low, so doctors rarely if ever give a shot. Even if people are low in B12, their lab results say they’re within a normal range.

Dr. Martin has said for years that you need optimized levels of B12 to function properly. In today’s episode he talks about why people are deficient in B12 and the symptoms you should watch out for.

Nov 30, 2022

  • The brain’s self-cleaning oven
  • Cataracts

Nov 29, 2022

A headline from an Israeli study says that sperm counts are down 62% worldwide in the last 50 years! It’s not good news and Dr. Martin says it’s caused by a decrease in testosterone in men.

In Dr. Martin’s clinical experience, 90% of men over 40 have symptoms of low testosterone, and it gets worse. Most men over the age of 50 have higher estrogen and lower testosterone levels than their spouse!

Join Dr. Martin as he reviews this study and shares what men can do to increase their testosterone.

Nov 28, 2022

Dr. Martin has continued sharing about brain health the last few episodes. Today he looks at what we can do to preserve our brains, and specifically the memory centre.

So, how do you protect your memories? Dr. Martin says you start in the kitchen. Start making better food choices that will get your insulin down. You really don’t want to overuse insulin and develop insulin resistance. Insulin is your friend until it’s not.

Probiotics are another thing you can do. Having proper levels of good bacteria will prevent leaky gut syndrome. When yeast crosses the blood brain barrier, then you’re in trouble. Dr. Martin explains why stopping leaky gut is another way to protect your memory!

Nov 25, 2022

Dr. Martin again looks at brain health, focusing on Alzheimer’s disease in today’s episode.

When it comes to Alzheimer’s research, it has long been believed that beta amyloid proteins are the cause of the disease. The article Dr. Martin shares looks at how research got hung up on beta amyloids.

It turns out that autoimmune disorder is more likely the cause. Join Dr. Martin as he unpacks the study and shares how researchers “were looking for love in all the wrong places”.

Nov 24, 2022

Dr. Martin reviews several studies on brain health in today’s episode. One study is saying how cognitive decline can be the result of not enough protein in the diet. Understand that our brains are energy factories. They need proper fuel to function!

The best protein for our brains is animal protein, but when you live on carbohydrates, you’re sure to shrink your brain. Our brains shrink over our lifetime, but if they shrink too much, it could result in Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Join Dr. Martin to learn why red meat is good for preventing cognitive decline!

Nov 23, 2022

  • Mould & environmental toxins in body

Nov 22, 2022

Dr. Thomas Seyfried is a well known scholar in cancer research and professor of biology at Boston College. He recently wrote an article saying that cancer is not a genetic disease but instead a metabolic one. Dr. Martin agrees 100% with his statement!

For the last 50 years, cancer has been seen as mutation of cells and not as a disease of metabolic health. Dr. Seyfried says that once people understand that cancer is a metabolic disease, you will see a big reduction in death and improvement in quality of life and survival.

Join Dr. Martin as he discusses this article that backs up what he’s been saying for years!

Nov 18, 2022

Dr. Martin shares an article he enjoyed about the almost instant benefits of ditching sugar. From losing weight, to reducing the risk of diabetes, and to lowering your blood pressure, these are just some of the instant benefits.

Since the 1990s, we’ve seen a 300% increase in fatty liver. You get a fatty liver from sugar and the worst is fructose. High fructose corn syrup came into existence in the early 80’s and the world was forever changed. We now see that 93% of the population has some form of metabolic syndrome!

Join Dr. Martin in today’s episode to learn the other instant benefits of ditching sugar. Dr. Martin also shares a bonus benefit that he thinks is important.

Nov 17, 2022

Dr. Martin loves coffee! If you’ve followed him for any length of time, you know this. He flagged two more studies about coffee over the weekend, and one of them has to do with fat cells.

There are two types of fat cells. White fat cells are the storing machines, whereas brown fat cells help to metabolize and burn off other fat cells. For both of these cells to function, they need blood. If you gain just one pound of fat, your body creates five extra miles of blood vessels to bring the nutrients to the fat!

Join Dr. Martin in today’s episode as he looks at how coffee can help starve fat cells and help you to lose weight.

Nov 16, 2022

Dr. Martin answers questions sent in by our listeners.

  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • Oil of oregano for kids
  • Milk thistle for the liver
  • Pelvic pain in men
  • Arthritis in the knee
  • Lowering of triglycerides
  • Cultured Oil
  • Alpha-gal syndrome
  • Chelation

Nov 14, 2022

Join Dr. Martin on Vitamin D Day as he continues his discussion on how to prevent memory loss in today’s episode!

The study from last episode showed how 1 in 8 people over the age of 65 will get Alzheimer’s. It also showed how having low levels of vitamin D resulted in profound and rapid decline in cognitive function.

Dr. Martin says for your brain to operate properly, it needs vitamin D!

Nov 11, 2022

A new study out in the States is saying that 1 in 8 people over 65 will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. This number is worse than we thought, but it’s not surprising considering Alzheimer’s is the number 3 cause of death in North America!

When it comes to Alzheimer’s, the brain shrinking is primarily due to metabolic syndrome. It starts with your food choices, and when you’re continually eating sugar and crappy carbs, your liver can’t keep up!

Join Dr. Martin in today’s episode as he teaches on how to prevent memory loss.

Nov 10, 2022

Dr. Martin looks at a new study on vitamin D. This study is quite interesting because it looks at E-cadherin, an adhesion molecule that’s the glue that holds your cells together. Without proper levels of vitamin D and calcium, this molecule can malfunction.

Join us in today’s episode as Dr. Martin explains the significance of this new finding. Dr. Martin also looks at a study on vitamin D and depression.
